We cap our guest count on purpose. Yes, our guests are shoulder to shoulder on the balcony — because that’s Mardi Gras. What’s different is that they’re actually on the balcony. At other venues, people spend the night fighting to get balcony access, much less a spot at the rail. Our guests spend most of the party outside, in it, tossing beads down to the people below.

One thing first-timers consistently underestimate: how many beads they’ll throw. When you’re not stuck inside waiting for a turn at the rail, you actually get to toss. A lot. Locals who’ve done it with us come back every year and still tell me they didn’t expect to go through as many beads as they did.

Friday Is a Different Animal

If you’re looking at the Friday before Mardi Gras, understand what you’re booking into. Friday is locals’ day. Walking krewes march down Bourbon Street, neighborhood parties fire up before the parades, and the street has an energy that’s distinctly New Orleans.

Friday afternoon at Cornet is extremely limited — annual clients have held those slots for years, and they rarely open up. If you see afternoon availability, don’t think about it. Friday night is a different story. Those tickets are available, and it’s one of the best nights of the week to be on Bourbon Street.
